Getting started

TL;DR: You install the CLI, create a project, run the dev server on port 4321, and package a .sppkg. These four steps take you from zero to a working web part — the SharePoint Framework Vite path via the SPFx Vite replacement.

This guide uses Vite and React — the SPFx Vite / SharePoint Framework Vite default. It is the SPFx alternative bundler and SharePoint Framework alternative build tool path; Rspack and esbuild are also available as the SPFx custom build pipeline. See Choosing a framework and Why RSPFx.
